Flamengo vs Racing Club prediction

Three-time champions Flamengo navigated their way past Estudiantes in the quarter-finals but required a penalty shoot-out to do so; after winning the first leg at home 2-1, a 0-1 defeat in the away second leg took the game to a shootout, where Filipe Luis’ side prevailed 4-2.

Racing Club, meanwhile, won 1-0 both home and away against Velez Sarsfield at the quarter-final stage to book their place in the last four of the Copa Libertadores for the first time since the 1996-97 season.

The Argentine outfit are enduring a fairly average domestic campaign so this competition undoubtedly represents their best chance of silverware this season.

With home advantage though, Brazilian side Flamengo will be confident of recording a first-leg victory here. They have been one of the top South American teams this season and they simply boast more quality on the pitch than their Argentine competitors.
