New York City sit fifth in the Eastern Conference. NYCFC come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Toronto after victories against the Columbus Ctew and Chicago Fire following MLS’ return after FIFA World Cup 2026.
They now face a Santos Laguna side that have struggled badly at the start of the 2026-27 Liga MX Apertura campaign as one of just two sides, alongside Juarez, to have suffered three defeats from three thus far.
Santos Laguna reportedly have some money to spend but that hasn’t come to fruition just yet and NYCFC are firm favourites for this one, especially at the Sports Illustrated Stadium.
