Since moving to Europe from River Plate, Julian Alvarez has fast established himself as another top striker from Argentina who is an increasingly frequent goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League.
Alvarez scored his first Champions League goal back in October 2022 against Copenhagen whilst at Pep Guardiola’s Man City, and the following two seasons saw the Argentinian’s numbers really shoot up as he proceeded to find the net over ten times across that period. This despite Alvarez leaving the Premier League side in summer 2024 to join Atletico Madrid.
