Bournemouth preview: Famous night in Spain 

AFC Bournemouth come into this one on the back of winning their first ever European game as they defeated Real Sociedad by two goals to one at the Reale Arena in the Basque Country in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

The Cherries remain winless in the Premier League but that does not necessarily reflect a high performance level, with a defeat to Manchester City before draws against Everton, Newcastle United and then Brentford.

Liverpool preview: Unbeaten but points left out there

Andoni Iraola returns to Bournemouth with his Liverpool side unbeaten after six matches across all competitions after The Reds eventually eased past Tottenham Hotspur by three goals to one in the third round of the EFL Cup in midweek.

Liverpool were left immensely frustrated by a toothless display last week as they shared a goalless draw with Fulham and that means their only victory in the Premier League came against newly-promoted Ipswich Town after four matches.

Bournemouth team news: Nothing fresh

At the time of writing, there doesn’t appear to be any fresh injuries for Bournemouth to deal with as Veljko Milosavljevic, Julian Araujo, Amine Adli and Eli Junior Kroupi remain sidelined.

The Cherries may well rotate with Marco Rose refreshing his side after their trip to San Sebastian the other day, albeit it remains to be seen who would be likeliest to drop out.

Bournemouth led late against Manchester City before losing and they then conceded late equalisers against Everton and Newcastle, with the latter a game in which they were 2-0 up. Even against La Real in midweek they threatened to give up their lead once again with late pressure from the hosts. Iraola will likely get a warm reception down on the south coast and the intensity of Liverpool’s opponents may be lesser than normal given their European excursions so siding with the visitors is the way to go.
