Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford are often lauded for being the best run clubs in the Premier League and they now face off at the AMEX Stadium.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV & online: UK – Sky Sports & Sky Go / USA – NBC & Peacock

Brighton preview: A title challenge

Brighton and Hove Albion may well fancy themselves to be in a title race this season, especially with Manchester City’s probable points deduction, as they begin the weekend sitting five points behind Arsenal at the top-of-the-table.

The Seagulls, who had lost to City on penalties in the fourth round of the EFL Cup, earned themselves a famous 1-0 defeat of the Cityzens in the Premier League last week with a Yasin Ayari winner at the Etihad Stadium.

Brentford preview: European push

Brentford come into this one on the back of a comfortable and impressive 2-0 defeat of Nottingham Forest at the Gtech Community Stadium last weekend, courtesy of a Nikola Milenkovic own goal and a second half Igor Thiago strike.

The Bees narrowly missed out on the European spots in the Premier League last season but they will want to go a step further and qualify this time around, beginning the match day sitting tucked inside the top six with one defeat in nine matches.

Brighton team news: A few doubts

Brighton have achieved their impressive start without key men Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh but the latter has now returned and the former is expected to be back after the international break.

Pascal Struijk and Ferdi Kadioglu require late fitness tests ahead of this one and the same can be said for Femi Azeez, who is yet to make his Albion debut.

Further details will appear here following pre-match press conferences…

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Wieffer, Dunk, Vuskovic, Boscagli; Chema, Gross; Gomez, Ayari, De Cuyper; Kostoulas

Unavailable: Mitoma (Fitness), Yohanna (Injured), Tzimas (Injured), Ferguson (Injured)

Questionable: Struijk (Injured), Kadioglu (Injured), Azeez (Fitness)

Brentford team news: Yarmolyuk returns

Ukrainian midfielder Yehor Yarmolyuk has returned from a three-match suspension for this weekend. It could well be that he comes straight back into the eleven for this one.

Antoni Milambo and Josh Dasilva have returned to training but they remain unavailable with Rico Henry, Fabio Carvalho and Kaye Furo confirmed absentees for the visitors, too.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kelleher; Kayode, Van den Berg, Ajer, Lewis-Potter; Yarmolyuk, Janelt; Ouattara, Jensen, Schade; Thiago

Unavailable: Henry (Injured), Milambo (Fitness), Dasilva (Fitness), Carvalho (Injured), Furo (Injured)

Questionable:

Key stats

  • Brighton have won five of their ten Premier League meetings with Brentford, all since 2021/22 (W5 D3 L2), including both in 2025/26: 2-1 at home and 2-0 away.
  • Brentford have never won at Brighton in five Premier League visits (D2 L3).
  • Brighton are third coming into Matchweek 10 with 19 points (W6 D1 L2), their best start after nine games in ten Premier League seasons – the previous best was 16, in 2023/24 and 2024/25.
  • Brighton's 24 goals are the most in the division and their goal difference of +17 is the best; their six clean sheets are joint-most with Arsenal.
  • Brighton have conceded only once in four home league games this season (W3 D1), scoring 13, including 4-0 vs Aston Villa, 3-0 vs Arsenal and 5-0 vs Crystal Palace.
  • Brighton have won 5-0 twice this season, at Coventry and at home to Crystal Palace, and won 1-0 at Man City in Matchweek 9.
  • Brighton's seven goals conceded after nine games is their fewest at this stage in ten Premier League seasons (previous best nine, in 2021/22).
  • Brentford are sixth with 14 points (W3 D5 L1), their best start after nine games in six Premier League seasons (previous best 13, in 2024/25 and 2025/26).
  • Brentford have drawn all four away league games this season and five in a row on the road since 24 May 2026 – their longest run of away draws in six Premier League seasons since 2021/22.
  • Brentford are winless in nine away league games (D7 L2) since winning 4-3 at Burnley on 28 February 2026.
  • Brentford are the only team to have scored in every league game this season, and have scored in 11 straight league games since 17 May 2026.
  • Michael Oliver refereed the 3-3 draw at the Amex on 1 April 2023, the joint-highest-scoring meeting between the sides along with Brentford's 4-2 home win on 19 April 2025; Brighton have lost their last three games with him and are W2 D5 L5 in 12 home Premier League games under him.
  • Brentford have won six of their 12 Premier League games with Oliver (W6 D2 L4), a 50.0% win rate compared with 35.7% overall.

Brighton vs Brentford prediction

While Brentford may have been difficult to beat with just that one loss in nine matches, Brentford have remained entertaining with their nine matches having consisted of 25 goals. As for Brighton, they have been relentless and entertaining throughout the campaign, having beaten Getafe by a goal to nil to continue that in the UEFA Europa Conference League in midweek – with The Seagulls remaining the top scorers in the Premier League and both teams scoring seems a good bet for this one.

Brighton vs Brentford tip: Both teams to score
