Everton preview: Back-to-back victories
Everton edged to a 1-0 defeat of Newcastle United in the Premier League on Monday, a few days after they had eased to a more comfortable 3-1 victory against The Magpies in the fourth round of the EFL Cup.
The Toffees have Fleetwood Town awaiting for them in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup and begin the match day sitting seventh in the Premier League table with the chance to go level on points with Chelsea in fourth before the rest of the league play this weekend.
Coventry preview: Competitive Coventry
Coventry City come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat of Sunderland at the Coventry Building Society Arena, courtesy of goals scored by Taiwo Awoniyi, Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Jack Rudoni as they continue to be competitive.
Having struggled with four successive defeats following their promotion to the Premier League last season, The Sky Blues have now managed three victories as they seek to push themselves clear of the bottom three and the relegation places.
Everton team news: Grealish issue
With such a small squad, it is an ideal situation for David Moyes to not be dealing with any confirmed injury absentees, albeit Tyrique George was seen to limping against Newcastle.
One big issue for Moyes and The Toffees is the situation around Jack Grealish, who was left out in the cup against The Magpies due to disciplinary matters and then Moyes explaining he is not yet available for selection due to a lack of match fitness.

Coventry team news: Big call on Grimes
Club captain Matt Grimes had started every game so far this season before being left out, albeit brought on, in that defeat of Sunderland and Frank Lampard is unlikely to want to change too much.
That may also include in defence with Bobby Thomas working himself back to full fitness but Manchester City loanee shining against The Black Cats alongside Ethan Pinnock.

Everton vs Coventry prediction
As Frank Lampard returns to former club Everton, the Coventry boss will be keen to showcase his continued evolution as a manager, having become more pragmatic with The Toffees but now further marrying that up with more pragmatism to mean they are capable of competing with a similar level of fluency as shown against Sunderland and Newcastle in recent wins but with grit shown in a 1-0 defeat of Nottingham Forest before the first international break of the season. They head to Merseyside likely to deploy a similar gameplan as to that win at the City Ground away from home and Everton, as ever under Moyes, are themselves difficult to beat and score against so a low-scoring contest would feel a decent bet for this one.
