Watford vs Lincoln City prediction

The defensive fragilities of both Watford and Lincoln City could not have been more evident at the weekend. While Lincoln were outclassed by Birmingham City in a 1-3 defeat, the Hornets threw away a two-goal advantage to lose 3-2 away at Norwich City, their sixth loss in the last seven rounds of Championship fixtures.

Only two clubs outside of the bottom three have conceded more league goals than Watford and Lincoln so far in 2026-27. But for Watford in particular, they have no choice but to take more risks offensively due to their dire recent run of results, leaving what is a backline shorn of confidence vulnerable to waves of opposition attacks.

To be quite frank, both of these teams have been poor at the back and all signs point to plenty of goals being on the menu here. Back over 2.5 of them and both teams to score for what would be the fourth straight game involving the visiting Imps.

Watford vs Lincoln City tip: Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score
