Lens need to find some consistency again as they welcome Cesc Fabregas’ Como to Stade Bollaert-Delelis in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV & online: UK – TNT Sports & HBO Max / USA – Paramount+

Lens preview: Beaten at the weekend

Lens come into this one on the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to Lille in Derby du Nord at Stade Pierre-Mauroy at the weekend due to a late winner scored by former France international striker Olivier Giroud.

Lens, who replaced Dino Toppmoller with Yannick Cahuzac in September, have been inconsistent throughout the campaign with their last eight matches across all competitions consisting of three wins, four defeats and a draw.

Como preview: Cesc’s Como

Cesc Fabregas’ Como enjoyed a famous result in their last game in this competition as they hammered Manchester United by four goals to one at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia with Nico Paz in fine form for the Italians in that one.

Como had started their debut UEFA Champions League season by hammering RB Leipzig by the same scoreline before succumbing to an entertaining 3-2 loss to Feyenoord at De Kuip in Rotterdam in their second game.

Lens team news: Edouard out

Since they last played in this competition, former Crystal Palace striker Odsonne Edouard has sustained a groin injury and he is now sidelined alongside fellow attacker Abdallah Sima.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Risser; Aguilar, Baidoo, Udol; Abdulhamid, Cuisance, Haidara, Skoras; Kadile, Ivanovic, Thauvin

Unavailable: Nawrocki (Injured), Ganiou (Injured), Sima (Injured), Edouard (Injured)

Questionable:

Como team news: A few absentees

Como have a quartet of injury absentees in the final third as Jesus Rodriguez, Jayden Addai, Assane Diao and Moise Kean remain sidelined alongside versatile England international defender Trevoh Chalobah.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Couto, Jacobo, Kempf, Valle; Da Cunha, Perrone; Caqueret, Paz, Baturina; Douvikas

Unavailable: Chalobah (Injured), Rodriguez (Injured), Addai (Injured), Diao (Injured), Kean (Fitness)

Questionable:

Lens vs Como prediction

In Serie A, Como edged past rock-bottom Venezia by a goal to nil at the weekend, with the Venetians improving and Como not at their absolute best, reliant on a penalty from Lucas Da Cunha just before half-time. That victory does mean that they have now five matches on the bounce across all competitions and they should be the team to be sided with in Northern France.

Lens vs Como Tip: Double chance – Como to win or draw
