Bayer Leverkusen preview: Schick saves a point
Bayer Leverkusen looked to be falling to defeat against Augsburg, but an 89th minute equaliser for Patrik Schick grabbed a point. Now back at home, they’ll be looking to make it consecutive victories at the BayArena after having beaten Union Berlin by four goals to nil back in the second round of fixtures.
They had taken the lead vs Augsburg, but a five-minute double from Michael Gregoritsch looked to have sunk them before Schick popped up late on. That leaves them with four points from nine available after three games.
RB Leipzig preview: Back to winning ways
RB Leipzig recovered extremely well from defeat in both the Bundesliga and Champions League with a much-needed thrashing of Hamburg at Red Bull Arena. They’ve now won both their home games, scoring eight goals and not conceding any themselves. Five different goalscorers against Hamburg will have also pleased head coach Martin Demichelis.
This next match represents a big test for Leipzig when considering how poor they’ve been on the road so far this season. Losses to Werder and Como have been damaging and defensively in particular, they simply must improve especially when coming under pressure.

Bayer Leverkusen vs RB Leipzig prediction
This encounter has the potential to go either way depending on which team proves to be more clinical in front of goal. You would expect chances to be created at both ends of the pitch when considering the quality of attacking players at the disposal of Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig, but it’s about who executes in the clutch.
Home advantage shouldn’t be ignored, especially when you consider how well Leverkusen played last time out at the BayArena and how poor RB Leipzig have been on their travels. With that in mind, consider backing the hosts to gain at least a point, if not all three via the double chance market.
