Preston North End vs Southampton prediction

Preston battled hard against Southampton, but battling hard so often doesn't prove to be enough in the Championship. Sydie Peck's hat-trick sunk Graham Alexander's side in midweek, who lost 2-3 to Sheffield United at Deepdale. Now they face a daunting task in containing Southampton.

The Saints are unbeaten in their last six league matches and will be fired up after only being able to draw 1-1 away at West Brom last time out. The visitors are taking on a team in a toxic environment, with players playing with no confidence, while fans have turned their frustrations on those upstairs at the club.

Although there is no pressure on Preston here, as Southampton are overwhelming favourites, that’s unlikely to prevent the expected match outcome. Provided they keep any complacency firmly in the dressing room, this should be a routine Southampton victory.
