Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona prediction

Ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures, Barcelona sit on 31 points with Atletico Madrid behind on 29 and Real Madrid a point behind Los Rojiblancos with Madrid facing Valencia at the Bernabeu on Saturday.

Atleti come into this one on the back of a first defeat in a couple of months as they were beaten 2-0 by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League. Barcelona, on the other hand, hammered Aston Villa by three goals to nil at Camp Nou.

Barca have, throughout Hansi Flick’s reign, been a brilliant watch but susceptible when they come up against stronger opposition – as was the case when they lost the Clasico a couple of weeks ago. Atletico have been one of the teams to have their number, beating them in both the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals and the Copa del Rey semi-finals last season.

In those recent meetings, Atletico have gone at Barca and it has produced some real thrillers with their ten meetings since the arrival of Flick producing 37 goals and another thriller is to be expected.

Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona tip: Over 2.5 goals
