Atletico Madrid preview: Big but unconvincing wins
In the last week, Atletico Madrid have won two games and scored seven goals without conceding in La Liga but in both games against Real Sociedad and Osasuna, the scoreline flattered Los Rojiblancos.
Atletico scored three late goals to win 3-0 in San Sebastian against La Real before again scoring three second half goals to hammer a now struggling Osasuna side by four goals to nil at the Metropolitano the other day.
Real Madrid preview: Fortunate to win
Carlos Espi scored a late winner in their opener against Espanyol before having a late equaliser ruled out against Real Betis. He was then required to score another late winner in midweek as Real Madrid defeated Elche by three goals to two.
Dominant in the first half and going 2-0 up before half-time at Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero in the Community of Valencia, Elche then fought back to 2-2 before Carlos Espi became Madrid’s hero once again in second half stoppage-time.

Atletico Madrid are dealing with a few key doubts for this weekend with midfielder Pablo Barrios potentially sidelined alongside attacking duo Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth.

Real Madrid have put in some very good performances this season but things may already be dipping with a fortuitous defeat of Internazionale in the UEFA Champions League after losing to Betis and then needing that late winner after a wobble against Elche.
