Preston North End vs Sheffield Utd prediction

Graham Alexander is still hunting for that elusive first win as Preston North End head coach, as his side continue to flounder at the bottom of the table and struggle to pick up points. Their latest league match saw them beaten 2-0 by Stoke City, in which they showed little-to-no attacking threat. The squad is poor and bereft of confidence, with a significant lack of quality across all positions.

For Sheffield Utd, it’s an opportunity to take advantage of another side’s struggles and continue to generate some much-needed momentum following a hard-fought 1-0 triumph last Friday over Wrexham. With seven points from the last nine available to them and a backline that has conceded just a single goal over this period, backing the Blades to shut down Preston and emerge from Deepdale with three points has to be favoured.
