After a flawless group stage campaign, Brazil made a big round of 16 statement by knocking out USA on penalties after drawing 1-1. They’ve conceded only three goals so far across four games, scoring ten goals and are a formidable opponent for another juggernaut side in Spain. The European heavyweights also won three from three in the group stage, racking up 16 goals.
Having defeated rivals Portugal 2-0 to reach this stage, Brazil must find a way to get past a Spanish defence that has given up just the one goal in the competition. This has all the makings of a fascinating encounter, where opportunities could be at a premium, but quality football certainly won’t be.
