San Diego FC were outclassed by Liga MX giants Club America at Estadio Azteca this past Thursday, losing 3-1. Whilst they could at least take the positive of winning the second half, being hit for three in the first period meant the game was already over. However, they’ve more of a chance in the second round against Mexican competition once again, but more winnable opposition in Club Tijuana.
The visitors were beaten two goals to nil by Austin FC and didn’t look at all strong. Although it’s been a huge disappointing campaign so far for San Diego, the Leagues Cup represents a good opportunity for them and they are likely to take this match more seriously. With home advantage in their favour, back San Diego but via the draw no bet market for extra security.
