KuPS vs Universitatea Craiova prediction
The winner of this tie will be guaranteed league phase football in at least the UEFA Europa Conference League this season. Kuopion Palloseura reached the knockout play-off round of that competition last year, while Universitatea Craiova reached the league phase of a UEFA competition for the first time ever in the 2025-26 campaign.
Finnish champions KuPS were knocked out in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League last week, losing by three goals to nil on aggregate by Azeri champions Sabah. Uni Craiova, on the other hand, were edged out by Bulgarian champions Levski Sofia by three goals to two on aggregate.
As ever in European football, home advantage is crucial for KuPS and they have to be viewed as slight favourites for this first-leg at Kupio Football Stadium.
