Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg are expected to bounce back in European competition this season as they take on Cypriot outfit Pafos in the UEFA Europa League.

Now under the management of former Sheffield Wednesday and Rangers boss Danny Rohl, Red Bull Salzburg need to re-emerge as a force in UEFA competition this season. They again finished as third in the Austrian Bundesliga last season, beaten to the punch by LASK and then Sturm Graz.
Pafos reached the league phase of the UEFA Champions League last season. This summer they are a different side, having finished fourth, but the 2026 Cypriot Cup winners managed to come from 2-0 down to beat Hajduk Split after extra-time in the second qualifying round of this competition last week.
Pafos have shown they aren’t too impressive on the road and Salzburg should get themselves a first-leg victory at the Red Bull Arena on Thursday night.
