After a period of regression which has seen HJK miss out on the Finnish Veikkausliiga title and even finish as low as fourth last season, they did demolish Northern Irish side Coleraine in the previous round by eight goals to nil on aggregate.
Motherwell have very little experience in European football but they have managed to win a tie with ease, defeating Havnar Boltfelag with a 2-0 win at home and a 3-0 win away before beating Hibernian 2-1 on the opening day of the domestic campaign.
Motherwell will fancy themselves over the two legs of this tie so long as they can ensure this remains a low-scoring encounter in the Finnish capital city.
