Latvian champions Riga were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Ararat-Armenia but made it past Vardar Skopje by eight goals to four on aggregate in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
ETO Gyor surprised many by making it past Ferencvaros to win the Hungarian title last season before succumbing to a shock UEFA Champions League defeat Vikingur Reykjavik. They then managed to overcome Luxembourg minnows Atert-Bissen last week.
ETO Gyor won 6-2 in the first-leg of that tie against Atert-Bissen and another high-scoring encounter would seem likely, given Riga’s 12-goal tie against Vardar.
