After losing the Hungarian title to ETO Gyori for the first time in over half a decade, Ferencvaros have performed well in Europe this season after the departure of Robbie Keane. After defeating Vojvodina in the first qualifying round, they then enjoyed a 4-3 aggregate victory against Dutch Eredivisie side FC Twente.
Gornik Zabrze come into this one on the back of a hard-fought loss to Turkish giants Ferencvaros in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, losing by two goals to one on aggregate. Gornik have won just European tie, against Moldovan side Zaria Balti, since reaching the group stages of the 1995 UEFA Intertoto Cup.
Gornik Zabrze are inexperienced in Europe but were strong last month. This is a tough test, though, especially in Budapest, and Ferencvaros have to be favoured here in this first-leg.
