Benfica vs Hearts prediction

Following the appointment of Marco Silva, Benfica began their new era with a 2-1 defeat to Swiss Super League outfit St Gallen in the first-leg of their second qualifying round tie. Greece international attacker Vangelis Pavlidis notched four goals in the second-leg, though, with another from Clement Lenglet to win 5-0 and 6-2 on aggregate.

Hearts missed out on a first ever Scottish Premiership title on the final day of last season before losing manager Derek McInness and captain Lawrence Shankland over the summer. The Jam Tarts, as they are nicknamed, then succumbed to a 6-0 aggregate hammering at the hands of Sturm Graz in the UEFA Champions League last month.

Hearts are some way off the team that they were last season and Benfica will be expecting to wrap up this tie in the first-leg at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.

Benfica vs Hearts tip: Benfica to win -1 handicap
