Egnatia vs Shamrock Rovers prediction
The first-leg of this UEFA Europa League first qualifying round saw Shamrock Rovers earn a 3-1 victory over Egnatia at Tallaght Stadium in Dublin, courtesy of goals from Graham Burke, Cabo Verde international defender Pico and Aaron Greene after a Greene own goal had helped Egnatia equalise just before half-time.
Egnatia have scored nine goals in their two European ties at home so far this season, winning 6-1 against Petrocub Hincesti and then drawing 3-3 with Celje. Shamrock Rovers lost 2-0 in Malta against Floriana and then by the same scoreline against Ararat-Armenia in Yerevan – and so are majorly reliant on home advantage.
Egnatia will be favoured to win their home leg but they have kept just two clean sheets in their last 11 matches across all competitions and so Shamrock, albeit a rare occurrence, should fancy themselves to strike on the counter-attack away from home.
