Fenerbahce haven’t been in the UEFA Champions League group or league phase since the 2008-09 campaign. After another big spending summer, headlined by the signing of Mason Greenwood from Olympique de Marseille, Fener edged past Polish outfit Gornik Zabrze by two goals to one on aggregate in the second qualifying round.
Sturm Graz hammered Heart of Midlothian, of the Scottish Premiership, by six goals to nil on aggregate in the second qualifying round. The Austrians qualified for the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa Conference League in the 2023-24 season before reaching the league phase of the UEFA Champions League and then the UEFA Europa League.
Sturm, with their recent form in Europe, will believe they have a very good chance here and both teams scoring would appear a decent bet for this first-leg in Istanbul.
