LIVERPOOL PREVIEW: NO SIGN OF SLOWING DOWN

Liverpool are still challenging on all fronts and now face Brighton for the second time this week after eliminating the Seagulls in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, the Reds holding off their opponents to eventually prevail 2-3 in an entertaining contest.

Arne Slot's men twice came from behind to take a point from their battle with title rivals Arsenal last weekend in the Premier League, and Slot has still just lost the one game in all competitions since he took over from Jurgen Klopp.

BRIGHTON PREVIEW: TWO POINTS DROPPED LAST WEEKEND

Brighton looked all set for a third Premier League win in a row last weekend, but opponents Wolves had other ideas with Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha scoring in the last few minutes to salvage a 2-2 draw for the visitors.

The Seagulls head into the weekend in a strong position in the table though, and their midweek League Cup elimination will allow them to focus fully on their Premier League campaign for the time being.

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS: FOUR ABSENTEES

The fact that Andy Robertson played 90 minutes of the Carabao Cup tie on Wednesday hints that Kostas Tsimikas could be preferred at left-back here, while Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz - both of whom scored midweek - will fight it out for a spot on the left side of attack.

Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai will also compete for a starting berth, while Alisson Becker, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota are unlikely to be seen until after the November international break.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Jones, Gakpo; Nunez

UNAVAILABLE: Alisson (Injured), Elliott (Injured), Chiesa (Injured), Jota (Injured)

BRIGHTON TEAM NEWS: JOAO PEDRO BACK IN TRAINING

Matt O'Riley and Joao Pedro have resumed training after their respective foot injuries and could be included in the squad, while Ferdi Kadioglu is expected to be okay after being withdrawn as a precaution in the midweek Carabao Cup tie.

Hurzeler has refused to rule Lewis Dunk out of contention despite initial fears of a longer spell on the sidelines, and Yankuba Minteh is thought to be close.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Verbruggen; Veltman, Van Hecke, Igor Julio, Estupinan; Kadioglu, Baleba, Ayari, Mitoma; Rutter, Welbeck

UNAVAILABLE: Webster (Injured), Milner (Injured), March (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Dunk (Injured), Kadioglu (Injured), Minteh (Injured), O’Riley (Fitness), Joao Pedro (Fitness)

LIVERPOOL VS BRIGHTON PREDICTION

Brighton will be out for revenge here after Liverpool knocked them out of the Carabao Cup midweek, but with the way Arne Slot's Liverpool have been operating, it is hard not to see the same outcome here.

With Mohammed Salah rested for the majority of the cup win, the Egyptian - six goals and five assists in the Premier League this season - will be raring to go and it will be no surprise if he gets on the scoresheet at Anfield.
