Noni Madueke

West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen, alongside the likes of Cole Palmer and Phil Foden, are among the biggest casualties from the selection of Noni Madueke. A left-footed right-winger capable of playing on either flank, but who is likely content with being the clear understudy to Bukayo Saka was required in the England squad heading into FIFA World Cup 2026 and so Tuchel opted to go with the man that has done it relatively well at club level. Madueke began life at the Emirates Stadium brightly but, given the amount of opportunities that he was provided with due to injuries to Saka throughout the campaign, he may be left underwhelmed with what he eventually produced overall. That said, the former Chelsea winger does now have the experience of being a Premier League winner, is well liked by Tuchel and will be the ideal profile to replace Saka, should the 24-year-old be struck down with injury.
