An attacking, or at least advanced, midfielder in the academy, Nico O’Reilly has been moulded into one of the most effective and exciting left-backs in the Premier League by Pep Guardiola. The Manchester City man has enjoyed an impressive individual campaign, headlined by a match-winning brace in the EFL Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium in March. The second-youngest player in the squad, O’Reilly gained pivotal experience in the 2025/26 campaign at City, playing 53 matches across all competitions as a key man that helped Guardiola sign off with a domestic cup double at the Etihad Stadium. He will likely get the nod to start at left-back and will be key to backing up either Anthony Gordon or Marcus Rashford down that flank, next to City teammate Marc Guehi in defence.
