John Stones

For some, John Stones has been a controversial pick by Thomas Tuchel after another injury-hit campaign at Manchester City, his final season at the Etihad Stadium. However, Tuchel has consistently reiterated just how important Stones is for him and his plans. The former Everton defender may well go down as one of England’s greats, a pillar of an era whereby England went further than ever before, twice, in the UEFA European Championship, as well as major improvements on the global stage at two FIFA World Cups. Stones has to work out his future at club level soon but, for now, he appears to be getting into his best shape to potentially partner Marc Guehi once more after the pair complimented each other extremely well on their way to the UEFA EURO 2024 final just a couple of years ago.
