England manager Thomas Tuchel has announced his 26-man squad for FIFA World Cup 2026.

Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento has since withdrawn due to injury and been replaced by versatile Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

Thomas Tuchel has made some huge calls for his England squad this summer with the likes of Harry Maguire, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cole Palmer and Phil Foden having missed out for The Three Lions.

The former Paris Saint-Germain boss has also opted to leave out some players that appeared guarantees for the squad and even in contention to start, such as Lewis Hall and Adam Wharton.

The surprise call-ups for the English include Tottenham Hotspur full-back Djed Spence and Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney, who hasn’t been in an England squad since last summer.

Other notable omissions include Levi Colwill, who appeared set to regain his place in the squad after returning from injury for Chelsea, Myles Lewis-Skelly of Arsenal and West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen.

Fikayo Tomori, Alex Scott, James Garner, Morgan Gibbs-White, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Dominic Solanke and Harvey Barnes are all also recent call-ups to have been left out, while Ben White is missing through injury.

Brentford midfielder Jordan Henderson has once again been trusted for his experience in the middle of the park, with other seemingly close calls seeing Ollie Watkins regain his spot and Jarell Quansah join the central defensive quintet alongside John Stones, Marc Guehi, Ezri Konsa and Dan Burn.

Kobbie Mainoo beating out the aforementioned Wharton is also a surprise to many, with the United man competing for a starting spot with Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest.

The core of the side remains familiar and England possess some real world stars with Jordan Pickford, Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Harry Kane remaining absolutely essential.

Marcus Rashford missed out on the squad for UEFA EURO 2024 but the Barcelona winger will be set to compete for the left-wing spot alongside Anthony Gordon.
