Frosinone preview: Newly-promoted Romans

Frosinone have bucked a trend by deciding to stick with the manager that got them promoted from Serie B last season. Massimiliano Alvini led them to second place in Serie B last year, behind Venezia, and he has been trusted with the role in the top-flight.

Frosinone have been relatively quiet in the summer transfer window but they have brought in some new signings with Alessio Zerbin and Luis Hasa both joining from Napoli alongside Kevin Akpoguma from Hoffenheim as the standout additions.

Juventus preview: Full season of Spalletti

Juventus looked set to finish last season with a bit of a flourish following the appointment of Luciano Spalletti mid-way through the campaign but The Old Lady eventually finished outside of the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots.

That hasn't prevented the Bianconeri from being relatively ambitious in the transfer market. Kerim Alajbegovic has been signed after his very short stint at Bayer Leverkusen, with Randal Kolo Muani also returning to the J Stadium on a permanent basis from Paris Saint-German after a poor stint on loan at Tottenham Hotspur.

Frosinone team news: Not too many issues

Ahead of the visit of Juventus to the capital city this weekend on the opening day, Frosinone have no confirmed absentees with defender Wisdom Amey a doubt.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Desplanches; A. Oyono, Akpoguma, Monterisi, Terzic; Koutsoupias, Grillitsch, Kone; Ghedjemis, Schmid, Zerbin

Unavailable:

Questionable: Amey (Injured)

Juventus team news: Gatti's bizarre injury

Federico Gatti has suffered a bizarre injury in which he was slide tackled by a pitch invading supporters, who had slipped, in Juve's final pre-season game and he is now a doubt alongside key men such as Andrea Cambiaso and Khephren Thuram.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Vicario; Celik, Bremer, Jhon Lucumi, Kelly; Locatelli, McKennie, Miretti; Alajbegovic, Kolo Muani, Yildiz

Unavailable:

Questionable: Gatti (Injured), Cambiaso (Injured), Thuram (Injured), Ekhator (Fitness), Milik (Injured)

Frosinone vs Juventus prediction

Frosinone were quite entertaining to watch in Serie B last season, at least by Serie B standards, scoring 76 goals in their 38 games as they finished second. Spalletti has been given some players that appear far more suited to his attacking and proactive style, too, so this could be quite an entertaining clash on the opening day of the campaign in Rome, with Juve the firm favourites to kick off with a victory against newly-promoted opposition.

Frosinone vs Juventus tip: Juventus to win
