Lazio have been surprisingly brilliant at the start of this season as the Romans now welcome a struggling Parma side to the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.

Lazio preview: Impressive Lazio

Despite major unrest within the fanbase aimed at the running of the club and the risky appointment of Gennaro Gattuso, who most recently failed to qualify Italy for a third successive FIFA World Cup, Lazio have been impressive this season.

The home team continued their fine start with an impressive 3-0 defeat of Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in Turin last weekend, courtesy of goals scored by Oliver Provstgaard, Gustav Isaksen and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

Parma preview: Struggling Parma

Following the sales of Zion Suzuki and Alessandro Circati to Aston Villa and Benfica respectively in the summer, the previously defensively solid Parma have lost that quality this time around and are badly struggling.

That was exposed in their most recent outing at the Ennio Tardini against a middling Torino side last week as they succumbed to a 3-0 loss to the visitors due to a brace from Giovanni Simeone as well as a Che Adams strike.

Lazio team news: Taylor a doubt

Former Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor is now a doubt for this one after picking up a thigh injury as Adam Marusic, Nicolo Rovella and Matteo Cancellieri work their way back to full fitness.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Mandas; Floriani Mussolini, Sutalo, Provstgaard, Tavares; Frattesi, Belahyane, Dele-Bashiru; Isaksen, Noslin, Zaccagni

Unavailable: Furlanetto (Injured), Gudmundsson (Injured)

Questionable: Marusic (Fitness), Rovella (Fitness), Taylor (Injured), Cancellieri (Injured)

Parma team news: A few issues

After undergoing surgery for appendicitis, Nesta Elphege remains sidelined for Parma alongside Lautaro Valenti, Hans Nicolussi Caviglia and Pontus Almqvist.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Corvi; Del Prato, Troilo, Diego Carlos; Britschgi, Adrian Bernabe, Keita, Fabbian, Valeri; Romero, Toure

Unavailable: Valenti (Injured), Caviglia (Injured), Almqvist (Injured), Elphege (Illness)

Questionable:

Lazio vs Parma prediction

Lazio were solid and getting by before the international break but they have evolved their stye into becoming a little more entertaining to watch with a 3-1 win against Monza before that hammering of Juve last week. Parma may have been a team to prevent that fluent Laziale style about five months ago but that is no longer the case and a comfortable Lazio victory is to be expected in Italy’s capital city on Saturday.

Lazio vs Parma tip: Lazio to win -1 handicap
