Italian outfit Roma look to make amends for last week’s collapse as they welcome Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava to Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV & online: UK – TNT Sports & HBO Max / USA – Paramount+

Roma preview: Gasp’s Giallorossi

Gian Piero Gasperini is doing an impressive job in charge of Roma but he will be immensely frustrated not to have overseen a famous win against Real Madrid last week as Roma conceded three late goals to Los Blancos to go from 3-1 up to 4-3 down.

The Giallorossi responded to that heartache against Madrid by easing to a comfortable 2-0 win against Genoa, coached by Roma legend Daniele De Rossi, courtesy of second half goals scored by Santiago Castro and Emanuele Lulli.

Slovan Bratislava preview: Toure’s Slovan

Yaya Toure is embarking upon his first managerial job and he is in charge of Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava, who are back in the UEFA Champions League after finishing 35th out of 36 a couple of seasons ago, with eight defeats from eight and the concession of 27 goals.

This time around, they have conceded nine goals in two games after a 6-1 loss to defending champions Paris Saint-Germain last month and then a 3-0 defeat at home to Stuttgart last week.

Roma team news: Injuries from last week

Roma sustained some very frustrating and key injuries last week against Real Madrid with midfielder Manu Kone and attacker Paulo Dybala now sidelined alongside first-choice goalkeeper Mile Svilar and Italy international midfielder Bryan Cristante.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Gollini; Mancini, Ndicka, Hermoso; Wesley, De Roon, Pisilli, Molina; Soule, Malen; Castro

Unavailable: Svilar (Injured), Bah (Injured), Cristante (Injured), Kone (Injured), Dybala (Injured)

Questionable:

Slovan Bratislava team news: Fully fit

As they make the trip to Rome this midweek, it appears as though Slovan Bratislava have a fully fit and available squad with no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Takac; Blackman, Bajric, Markovic, Cruz; Pokorny, Mustafic; Barseghyan, Martinez, Camara; Sporar

Unavailable:

Questionable:

Roma vs Slovan Bratislava prediction

Roma had started their UEFA Champions League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce and so, despite impressive performances and results on the whole this season, will be frustrated only to have a solitary point on the board. That really should change this time, though, with a comfortable defeat of a poor Slovan team to be expected in Italy’s capital city.

Roma vs Slovan Bratislava Tip: Roma to win -1 handicap
