Seven-time European champions AC Milan have started well as they come up against Maurizio Sarri’s Atalanta at San Siro on Sunday.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – TNT Sports & DAZN / USA – Paramount+ & DAZN

How to watch online: UK – HBO Max & DAZN / USA – Paramount+ & DAZN

AC Milan preview: Impressive in midweek

AC Milan come into this one on the back of an impressive 4-0 hammering of Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League, with a hat-trick scored by Alphadjo Cisse as well as a Goncalo Ramos strike.

The Rossoneri, coached by former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim, remain unbeaten in Serie A after a 1-1 draw against Sassuolo last week as they begin the match day sitting just outside of the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots.

Atalanta preview: Finding form under Sarri

Following the surprise appointment of Maurizio Sarri in the summer, Atalanta started unconvincingly but they have begun to show signs of fluency in the last week after the extended international break.

After easing past Venezia by three goals to one at the New Balance Arena last week, they then hammered Pafos by the same scoreline in the league phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League in midweek.

AC Milan team news: Gabbia out

Now experienced centre-back Matteo Gabbia is unavailable for this one due to a thigh injury sustained last week with Alexis Saelamaekers having suffered an ankle injury while away on international duty with Belgium.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Maignan; Mario Gila, De Winter, Pavlovic; Chukwueze, Musah, Rabiot, Pervis Estupinan; Pulisic, Diego Moreira; Ramos

Unavailable: Gabbia (Injured), Saelemaekers (Injured)

Questionable:

Atalanta team news: New issues

Eljif Elmas is now missing through suspension for Atalanta with the visitors also dealing with new injury issues such as Franck Kessie, Raoul Bellanova, Giorgio Scalvini and Giacomo Raspadori.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Carnesecchi; Zappacosta, Kristensen, Bernasconi, Zalewski; Ederson, Pasalic; De Ketelaere, Samardzic, Rowe; Krstovic

Unavailable: Scalvini (Injured), Kossounou (Injured), Hien (Injured), Elmas (Suspended)

Questionable: Bellanova (Injured), Kessie (Injured), Sulemana (Fitness), Raspadori (Fitness)

AC Milan vs Atalanta prediction

AC Milan showed some fluency for perhaps the first time this season in that hammering of Salzburg the other day. They were good against Lecce before the break but even that 3-0 win at San Siro came in moments. Atalanta head to the Giuseppe Meeazza having found some attacking form of their own, albeit with the control of so-called ‘Sarri-ball’. The Bergamasci and their hosts will both aim for control in different ways here and so a low-scoring contest seems quite a reasonable bet here.

AC Milan vs Atalanta tip: Under 2.5 goals
