Juventus have started the season in fairly underwhelming form as The Old Lady now welcome in-form Lazio the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Juventus preview: Indifferent Juve

Luciano Spalletti may well find himself under pressure after Juventus missed out on the top four and the UEFA Champions League last season with the Bianconeri then beginning this season with three wins in their opening six matches in Serie A.

The Old Lady came from behind in the second half to defeat Celta Vigo by two goals to one at Balaidos in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League in midweek with a late winner scored by Randal Kolo Muani.

Lazio preview: Bizarrely in-form

There remains a complete disconnect between the supporters and the club’s hierarchy at Lazio but the Romans, following the appointment of Gennaro Gattuso, have been much-improved this season as they begin the weekend sitting second in the table.

They returned from the international break with a comfortable 3-1 defeat of Monza in Serie A at Stadio Olimpico with goals scored by Nuno Tavares, Gustav Isaksen and Andrea Pinamonti.

Juventus team news: Several injuries

Juventus have several injury issues for this one as Khephren Thuram, Manuel Locatelli and Kenan Yildiz remain sidelined with Kamil Grabara also unavailable due to a knee injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Kalulu, Bremer, Jhon Lucumi, Celik; Douglas Luiz, Sarr; Conceicao, McKennie, Gonzalez; Kolo Muani

Unavailable: Grabara (Injured), Thuram (Injured), Locatelli (Injured), Yildiz (Injured), Ekhator (Injured), Boga (Injured), Milik (Injured)

Questionable:

Lazio team news: Trio could return

Lazio have three players that could return for the trip to Turin this weekend such as Adam Marusic, midfielder Nicolo Rovella and versatile forward Matteo Cancellieri.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Mandas; Floriani Mussolini, Doekhi, Provstgaard, Tavares; Frattesi, Belahyane, Taylor; Isaksen, Noslin, Zaccagni

Unavailable: Furlanetto (Injured), Pellegrini (Injured), Gudmundsson (Injured)

Questionable: Marusic (Fitness), Rovella (Fitness), Cancellieri (Injured)

Juventus vs Lazio prediction

Prior to the international break, Lazio managed to launch themselves towards the top end of the table with defensive solidity as Gattuso seeks to rebuild his reputation after failing to qualify Italy for FIFA World Cup 2026 in the spring. Juventus have themselves lacked fluency despite Spalletti’s preferred style and an impressive array of attackers – and so a low-scoring contest again feels likely in Piedmont.

Juventus vs Lazio tip: Under 2.5 goals
