Newcastle preview: Worrying signs

While there have been one or two bright moments this season, there have also been a number of low moments for Newcastle, not least their 4-1 loss to promoted side Coventry on Monday - their second successive away defeat by that scoreline.

Mathias Jaissle's side are at least unbeaten at St James' Park, although they did lose 0-2 to Aston Villa on home turf in the corresponding fixture last season.

After a sluggish start to the season, Aston Villa have unsurprisingly found their rhythm under Unai Emery and will now be looking to push towards the top half of the Premier League table.

Jaissle remains without the services of Ewen Jaouen, Tino Livramento, Jacob Ramsey and Anthony Elanga, while Bazoumana Toure could be involved despite picking up a foot injury in the Coventry defeat.
