Le Havre preview: Struggling again

Still under the management of former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard, Le Havre have started the season poorly with just two points collected from their opening six matches as they begin the weekend sitting rock-bottom in Ligue 1.

The home team come into this one on the back of an improved performance but still a defeat as they succumbed to a 1-0 loss to Lille at Stade Pierre-Mauroy due to a fifth minute winner scored by Dilane Bakwa.

Auxerre preview: Improvement from Auxerre

Following the appointment of former Southampton boss Will Still in the summer, Auxerre started the season poorly but they found some improvement just before the extended international break.

They were improved again last weekend but still saw themselves undone at Roazhon Park against Stade Rennais, losing by four goals to one after being level after 53 minutes and only 2-1 down going into second half stoppage-time.

Le Havre team news: Fresh issues

Ayumu Seko was sent off last week and so he is now missing through suspension, while both Elias Jelert and Rayan Fofana have picked up injuries and so they are now doubts, too.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Gallon; Sasso, N’Diaye, Touba; Ndiaye, Ebonog, Richardson, Ouziad; Nakamura, Samatta; Maja

Unavailable: Mpasi (Injured), Seko (Suspended), Zagadou (Injured), Mambimbi (Injured)

Questionable: Pembele (Fitness), Jelert (Injured), Fofana (Injured)

Auxerre team news: Several injuries

Auxerre have plenty of injury absentees for this one, notably in defence with Bryan Okoh, Telli Siwe, Marvin Senaya and Sekou Fofana all sidelined for the visitors.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Diop; Sy, Tuanzebe, Akpa, Oppegard; Piedfort, Ahamada, Danois; Faivre, Archer, Loader

Unavailable: Okoh (Injured), Siwe (Injured), Diousse (Injured), Senaya (Injured), Fofana (Injured), Mandengue (Injured)

Questionable:

Le Havre vs Auxerre prediction

The form of Cameron Archer, who played under Still at Southampton, has sparked some improvement from Auxerre but they remain susceptible to a defensive collapse, as was the case when chasing the game against Rennes. Le Havre, on the other hand, appear to lack quality across the pitch and siding with Auxerre would be the way to go for this one.

Le Havre vs Auxerre tip: Double chance – Auxerre to win or draw
