Roma preview: Drama in midweek
Up against 15-time European champions Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, Roma led Los Blancos by three goals to one as late as the 83rd minute before a dramatic turnaround from the Spanish giants lost Roma the game 4-3.
The Giallorossi, under the management of Gian Piero Gasperini, have been impressive across all competitions at the start of this season as they begin the match day sitting third in Serie A with four victories and two draws in their six matches.
Genoa preview: Struggling Genoa
Genoa collected just one point from their opening five matches before the prolonged international break but the Genovese opted to stick by Roma legend Daniele De Rossi in the dugout and their faith was repaid a touch last week.
Up against Fiorentina at the Luigi Ferraris in Liguria last week, Genoa defeated I Viola by two goals to one with early goals scored by Milutin Osmajic and Junior Messias before a Johan Vasquez own goal provided a consolation for Fiorentina in the second half.

Roma vs Genoa prediction
Roma began the Gasperini era with effectiveness but without the fluency and fire of his previous Atalanta teams. That effectiveness has been married up with a more attacking nature this season, though, albeit they may well be feeling bruised after their midweek collapse. Genoa travel to Italy’s capital city surely with their own renewed confidence and they may well bloody the nose of the hosts but the Romans remain firm favourites.
