Fiorentina spent big over the summer but have endured a tough start to the campaign as they take on the always entertaining Como at Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence.

Fiorentina preview: Big spending Fiorentina

After a big summer of spending following a relegation battle last season, Fiorentina sacked Fabio Grosso after beginning the season with three defeats from three but he has been replaced by the returning Paolo Vanoli.

Vanoli’s return to Florence began with a 4-2 victory away from home against Venezia before a Coppa Italia win against Pisa and then a 1-1 draw with Napoli. They were beaten 2-1 by Genoa last weekend.

Como preview: Entertaining Como

Como come into this one on the back of an entertaining 3-2 defeat to Rotterdam giants Feyenoord at De Kuip in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League, having made their debut in that competition with a 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig last month.

Como begin the match day sitting outside of the top six with a defeat to Frosinone before the international break before then sharing a goalless draw with a strong Roma side at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia last week.

Fiorentina team news: Atta a doubt

One of their big money summer signings was Arthur Atta but the former Udinese man is now dealing with an injury, while Fabiano Parisi is a confirmed absentee for the hosts.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): David de Gea; Alex Jimenez, Dragusin, Ranieri, Valde; Ndour, Inao Oulai, Fagioli; Mastantuono, Beto, Gnonto

Unavailable: Parisi (Injured)

Questionable: Atta (Injured)

Como team news: Diao a doubt

Having picked up an injury against Feyenoord the other day, Assane Diao is now a doubt for Como with Moise Kean sidelined after an injury in the international break with Italy.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Butez; Couto, Jacobo, Chalobah, Kaiky; Maximo Perrone, Da Cunha; Baturina, Nico Paz, Caqueret; Douvikas

Unavailable: Kean (Injured)

Questionable: Diao (Injured)

Fiorentina vs Como prediction

Como can often be profligate with their chances, having gone goalless against Frosinone and Roma either side of the international break but they remain an upwardly mobile and fun team to watch. Fiorentina themselves now have the potential really kick on with the quality that they have, too, and so both teams scoring seems a decent bet for this one in Tuscany.

Fiorentina vs Como tip: Both teams to score
