Napoli preview: Defeat at the weekend

Napoli come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat to previously pointless Venezia at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo in Venice at the weekend due to a 49th minute winner scored by former Sevilla striker Akor Adams.

The Neapolitans began their UEFA Champions League campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last month before taking the lead against Villarreal last week before succumbing to another loss, losing 3-1 by the Yellow Submarine.

Bodo/Glimt preview: Bodo win again

Kjetil Knutsen and his ever punching-above-their-weight Bodo/Glimt reached the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League last season and will want to again make an impression this time around.

Having started with a 5-0 loss to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, Bodo then managed to edge past Borussia Dortmund by a goal to nil in the Arctic Circle last week with a second half winner scored by Fredrik Sjovold.

Napoli team news: Alisson could return

Alisson Santos, who starred in the league phase for Sporting CP last season, is close to returning from a thigh issue while youngsters Constantino Favasuli and Antonio Vergara remain sidelined for the hosts.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Milinkovic-Savic; Marin, Rrahmani, Badiashile; Politano, Gilmour, McTominay, Di Lorenzo; De Bruyne, Giovane; Hojlund

Unavailable: Buongiorno (Injured), Favasuli (Injured), Vergara (Injured), Neres (Injured)

Questionable: Alisson (Fitness)

Bodo/Glimt team news: Blomberg injury

Bodo/Glimt have a fresh injury concern for this one as Ole Didrik Blomberg is now potentially sidelined alongside key man Hakon Evjen, as well as August Mikkelsen and Magnus Riisnaes.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Haikin; Sjovold, Gundersen, Aleesami, Bjorkan; Auklend, Berg, Fet, Hauge; Brynhildsen, Helmersen

Unavailable: Mikkelsen (Injured), Evjen (Injured), Riisnaes (Injured)

Questionable: Blomberg (Injured)

Napoli vs Bodo/Glimt prediction

Napoli do have home advantage and so may well feel confident about getting themselves on the front foot but it has been a fairly miserable start under Massimiliano Allegri, with three wins a draw and five defeats across all competitions. The energy and mentality of Bodo may well bring about yet another fairly humbling defeat for the hosts, hastening the now probable early departure of their experienced coach.

Napoli vs Bodo/Glimt Tip: Double chance – Bodo/Glimt to win or draw
