Liverpool preview: Iraola’s Reds
Liverpool have embarked upon a new era this summer with the appointment of former AFC Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola and, after he began badly with The Cherries, teething issues may well have to be expected after a hard-fought opener.
At St James’ Park, The Reds managed to snatch a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United, courtesy of a Dominik Szoboszlai penalty deep into second half stoppage-time, coming from behind twice to earn that point on Tyneside.
Nottingham Forest preview: Already under pressure
Given that Nottingham Forest made their way through four permanent managers last season, Evangelos Marinakis can be fairly described as ‘not very patient’ and so a poor start for Oliver Glasner will almost immediately put him under pressure.
The former Crystal Palace boss has overseen back-to-back-to-nil defeats to Leeds United in the last week, losing 1-0 at home to Leeds in the Premier League last week before a 2-0 loss to the Yorkshire giants at the City Ground in the EFL Cup in midweek.

Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest prediction
Liverpool are expected to eventually become one of the most entertaining and intense teams in the Premier League with a very energetic style under Iraola. That may not be on full show just yet but they remained wide open and fun to watch against Newcastle, which may well aid Glasner’s counter-attacking style here. Forest will therefore fancy themselves to score at Anfield but Liverpool do remain favourites.
