Harry Kane 

There is a good argument to suggest that Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is the best player in the world heading into FIFA World Cup 2026. Often very harshly accused of failing to show up in big games at his best, Kane scored home and away against European champions Paris Saint-Germain in this season’s UEFA Champions League semi-finals after superb displays against Real Madrid in the quarter-finals and then rounded off his campaign with a DFB-Pokal final hat-trick against Stuttgart to complete Bayern’s domestic double. England’s all-time top scorer and captain has been their key man for nigh on a decade now – but he is perhaps now hitting a new, even better level after totalling 61 goals in 51 games across all competitions for Bayern this season.
