Having broken onto the scene in the second-half of the 2023/24 campaign at Manchester United, young central midfielder Kobbie Mainoo not only forced his way into Gareth Southgate’s UEFA EURO 2024 squad but was eventually starting games by the final. Not the only one, he struggled to find a role under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford and looked as though he may be leaving the club not too long ago. However, Michael Carrick has reignited his career in Manchester and the Stockport-born midfielder has been key for The Red Devils as they qualified for the UEFA Champions League. Mainoo will be Elliot Anderson’s key competitor to play alongside Declan Rice in midfield.
