At UEFA EURO 2024, Lamine Yamal grabbed the headlines as a 16-year-old starlet that lit up the tournament but he was perhaps aided by the speed and directness from Nico Williams on the left wing. Williams’ form since then has been criticised by many, including Athletic Club supporters despite him committing his future to the Basque giants amid suggestions that Barcelona were trying to sign him. However, Williams heads into this summer off the back of a six-goal La Liga campaign – one more than what he managed in the 2023/24 season before he proved to be an excellent pick by Luis de la Fuente.
