At half-time of the final of UEFA EURO 2024, Martin Zubimendi replaced the injured Rodri and the Arsenal midfielder was excellent as La Roja eventually defeated England by two goals to one. Since then, Zubimendi became a wanted man in Europe and Arsenal were eventually the team to poach him from Real Sociedad and he was excellent in helping The Gunners win the Premier League title for the first time in 22 years, albeit the 27-year-old did suffer from a dip in form at the back end of the season that saw him miss out on the starting eleven for their UEFA Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
