Having turned 32 in late May, former Manchester City centre-back Aymeric Laporte has forced his way back into the Spain squad. Crucial alongside Robin Le Normand at UEFA EURO 2024, Laporte drifted from contention as his time at Al Nassr came towards an end but his return to Athletic Club last summer has seen him re-emerge as potentially first-choice for Luis de la Fuente, alongside Pau Cubarsi. The France-born defender is closing in on 50 caps for La Roja after previously representing the French at youth level.
