Alvaro Morata was the captain and led the line admirably for Spain at UEFA EURO 2024 but it was Real Sociedad legend Mikel Oyarzabal that came off the bench to score La Roja’s late winning goal in the final against England. Oyarzabal, Spain’s top scorer in the squad ahead of the tournament, may now pip Ferran Torres to the striking role after an impressive season in which he helped Real Sociedad win the Copa del Rey, while also hitting his 100th La Liga goal for La Real with a 15-goal season for the Basque giants in the league.
