Without Alvaro Morata in the squad and still possessing the likes of Ferran Torres and Mikel Oyarzabal, Luis de la Fuente has opted for an alternative profile in his third striker with the experience of ‘big man’ Borja Iglesias. The 33-year-old has enjoyed a generally impressive career but that has perhaps gone up a level since moving to Celta Vigo in the summer of 2024. Back-to-back seasons of scoring double figures for the Galicians in La Liga have helped him claim a spot in La Roja’s squad for this summer ahead of the likes of Morata, Gonzalo Garcia and the injury-plagued Samu.
