Valentina Shevchenko vs Manon Fiorot prediction
Valentina Shevchenko (24-4-1) comes out of her trilogy with Alexa Grasso with the flyweight title but those fights were some of the most challenging she has faced in her career with so little separating the two fighters.
Shevchenko has had an unbelievable career having fought at the very top for years and while there has been some small signs of slowing down just a touch, she remains up there with the very best of all time.
She puts his belt on the line against Manon Fiorot (12-1) who is a real rising star in the division. The French 35-year-old is a black belt in karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and after losing her very first professional MMA bout, she has since reeled off 12 wins in a row.
We are intrigued to see how the two match up in terms of strength as both have shown their ability to bully their opponents. Shevchenko may well have met her match in Fiorot here who is incredibly strong and it makes for an absolutely fascinating match-up.
We can see this being something of a stalemate and very little separating the two both over the five rounds and in each round. This could be a very tough fight to score.
Shevchenko is the slight underdog which does not sit well with us as she continues to be written off somewhat as she was against Grasso. Her experience over five rounds may well give her an edge.
We do however love Fiorot and she has been dominant in her rise up the rankings. She can push Shevchenko all the way here and leave it in the hands of the judges. We cannot split these two and our pick is on the fight going the distance.
Prediction: Fight to go the distance
