Davey Grant: Durable veteran still going strong at 40
Davey Grant (18-8) has been in the UFC for more than a decade, and the durable Englishman has not lost a step even at the age of 40.
He has won five of his last seven bouts in the UFC and is coming off a Fight of the Night unanimous decision win over Adrian Luna Martinetti in April.
Grant has never been knocked out, with his only defeats coming by submission or decision, and he is competitive in every fight he has.
Elijah Smith: Unbeaten in the UFC and on an eight-fight win streak
Elijah Smith (10-1) continues to rise through the UFC ranks at a decent pace, with the 24-year-old on an eight-fight winning streak.
After earning his shot via Dana White’s Contender Series back in September 2024, Smith has won all three of his fights in the UFC so far, including a spectacular slam knockout of Toshiomi Kazama in August 2025.
Smith has an impressive skill set, with good knockout power, a strong wrestling base and a good range of submission skills.
Davey Grant vs Elijah Smith prediction
Despite his advancing years, Grant continues to be as competitive as ever, but this will be an incredibly tough test against an opponent who is 16 years his junior.
Smith is rising in the bantamweight division, and it will be interesting to see how far he can go. The UFC matchmakers will see this as the perfect test of his credentials at this stage of his career.
Grant is always durable, and that will make this a really tough fight, but Smith has the tools to counter Grant’s strengths and the pop in his punches to really test the 40-year-old.
It is hard to see Grant getting knocked out, but we think Smith will have too much for him over the course of three rounds.
