Francis Marshall: Chasing a third straight win despite missing weight

Francis Marshall (10-3) will be hoping to make it three wins in a row in the UFC, as he comes off victories over Eric Silva and Lucas Brennan in his two previous fights in 2026.

The 27-year-old’s preparations for this fight have to be somewhat questioned, however, after he tipped the scales at 148 pounds, two pounds over the featherweight non-title limit. He forfeits 20% of his purse, and the bout will now go ahead at a catchweight.

Dakota Hope: Looking for a first UFC win after debut defeat

Dakota Hope (11-2) lost on his UFC debut in April, as a split decision went against him in his fight with Kai Kamaka III. Prior to that he was on a five-fight win streak, and the 29-year-old had been on something of a tear before earning his shot in the UFC.

Francis Marshall vs Dakota Hope prediction

Francis Marshall is the favourite coming into this bout, but there are some concerns after he missed weight by a substantial amount. Much will depend on what kind of camp he has had, but without any reports suggesting otherwise, it could very well work in his favour.

He has the edge in Octagon experience over Dakota Hope, and that could well make the difference here. He knows what it is like to win in the Octagon, while Hope has yet to taste victory after losing on his debut back in April.

There are always question marks when somebody misses weight by so much, but we think this could very well favour Marshall, and with the experience of winning in the Octagon already under his belt, we can see him making it three wins in a row.
