San Marino vs Romania Prediction

San Marino managed two victories in the UEFA Nations League, ending a run of over 20 years without a victory and earning their first ever competitive wins, as they now take on a Romania side that have been improving, too, but were frustrated in their opening game.

The Sammarinese are no longer the weakest side in European international football but they did suffer a 2-0 loss to Cyprus in their first game of UEFA’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign in Nicosia the other day thanks to goals from Ioannis Pittas and Andronikos Kakoullis in either half.

Romania reached the knockout stages of UEFA EURO 2024 last summer and were then relentless with six wins from six in League C of the UEFA Nations League in the autumn but they began their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying phase with a slender 1-0 loss to Bosnia-Herzegovina in Bucharest the other day.

San Marino are improving but Romania are still expected to be comfortable winners, although the hosts will be confident of avoiding one of the heavy defeats they have previously been on the end of.

San Marino vs Romania Tip: Romania to win & under 3.5 goals
